Terms
What you can expect from us, and what we need from you. Written to be read, not to be skipped.

Who you're dealing with
Boxed and Built assembles and dismantles flat-pack furniture across West Yorkshire.
Write to us at 28-30 Lumb Ln, Bradford BD8 7QS. Email hello@boxedandbuilt.co.uk or call 01274 665500. That address is for post — it isn't a shop or a showroom, and there's nothing to visit.
These terms apply to every job we quote for. Ask for a quote and you're agreeing to them.
Quotes
A quote is a fixed price for the work described in it, not an estimate. It's based on what you tell us and the photos or product links you send, so the more accurate that is, the more the quote will hold.
Quotes stand for 30 days. After that ask us again — prices move.
If the job on the day turns out to be materially different from what was described — more items, a piece already part-built wrong, no access to the room — we'll stop and tell you before doing anything extra. You can agree a new price or send us away at no charge. We will never do extra work and bill you for it afterwards.
Nothing is booked until we've confirmed a date to you in writing.
Your right to cancel
Because you book without meeting us, you have 14 days from the day we confirm your booking to cancel for any reason, with no charge. You don't have to give a reason.
To cancel, just tell us — email hello@boxedandbuilt.co.uk, call 01274 665500, or write to the address above. Telling us before the 14 days are up is enough; the message doesn't have to arrive by then.
If you've asked us to start the work inside those 14 days and then cancel part-way through, you pay for what's already been done, in proportion to the whole job. If we finish the job inside the 14 days at your express request, the right to cancel is used up — you can't cancel work that's already complete.
Any money you've paid comes back within 14 days of us being told, by the same method you paid.
Moving or cancelling a booked date
Separately from the legal right above, you can move or cancel a booked date at any time, free of charge. We'd rather have the notice than the argument.
If we have to move your date — illness, a job overrunning, weather that makes the drive unsafe — we'll tell you as soon as we know and offer the next slot we have. If that doesn't work for you, you owe us nothing.
Paying
Payment is due when the work is finished, not before. We don't take deposits and we'll never ask for card details on this website.
The price you were quoted is the price you pay. There's no travel charge inside our service area, no call-out fee, and no VAT to add.
What we need from you
The furniture needs to be on site, in its boxes, in or near the room it's going in. If it's still at a depot or upstairs in a flat with no lift, tell us when you book so we can allow for it.
We need somewhere legal to park within a reasonable distance, and access to the room and a power socket. If parking costs money where you are, that cost is yours.
Someone over 18 needs to be there to let us in and to look over the finished work before we leave.
If we turn up and can't start for one of these reasons, we'll do our best to rearrange rather than charge you.
What we don't do
We don't take on electrical work, gas or plumbing, wall-mounting and anchoring into walls. We don't disconnect appliances, and we don't remove fitted or wall-anchored units.
Anti-tip brackets are the common one. Most wardrobes and chests come with a strap meant to be screwed into the wall, and fixing into a wall we can't see inside — pipes, cables, plasterboard of unknown age — isn't work we'll do. We'll fit everything the piece needs to stand safely and tell you plainly that the wall fixing still needs doing.
If a job needs a qualified trade for part of it, we'll say so before you book rather than turn up and find out.
Complaints
Email hello@boxedandbuilt.co.uk or call 01274 665500 and we'll reply within 5 working days. If we can't sort it out between us, you can take it to your local Trading Standards service through the Citizens Advice consumer helpline.
We'll put right anything that was our fault. We're not liable for knock-on losses that weren't a reasonably foreseeable result of it, and nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Anything here you want explaining before you book? Ask us. See also our privacy policy.
