Georgian town houses over three floors
The listed centre around St John's Square is red-brick terraces of three storeys over a basement. A bed or wardrobe for a top-floor room goes up flat and is built in the room, and we ask which floor before we come so the time is right.
Rooms with balconies
Some of those terraces have wrought-iron balconies across the first-floor windows. A wardrobe on that wall must leave the window to the balcony usable, so we check the layout before building.
Newer estates around the edge
Out in Outwood, Kettlethorpe and Wrenthorpe the houses are newer with straight stairs, which makes a wardrobe a quicker job. Plasterboard walls need the right fixings for anything anchored to them, and we bring those.
Where the boxes come from
Wakefield is between IKEA Leeds at Birstall and IKEA Sheffield, so most flat-pack here comes from one or the other, or from the retail parks in town. A screenshot of the order or the product code is enough for us to fix a price.

Questions from Wakefield
Can you build furniture on the top floor of a three-storey terrace?
Yes. Nothing is built below the room it belongs in; on a three-storey house with a basement we carry the cartons up and assemble at the top, so the narrow turns on the stairs never meet a finished wardrobe.
Do you cover Horbury, Sandal and Crigglestone?
Yes, and the rest of WF1 to WF4, at the same price as Wakefield centre. For anywhere just outside those districts, put the postcode into the quote form and it will tell you.
Is there a travel charge to Wakefield?
No. The price is the same as in Bradford.
Blinds as well? Blinds measured and fitted in Wakefield, on the same visit if you like. Other towns: everywhere we cover. Letting several properties? Assembly for landlords.
